Are you a values‑driven leader who believes every child deserves the opportunity to thrive? We are seeking an exceptional, strategic and compassionate Business Manager to join our foundation Special School in Logan Reserve. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal leadership role in a brand‑new school, helping to establish the systems, culture, and operational foundations that will support students, families, and staff for years to come.

About Our School

Opening in Term 1 2027, the new Logan Reserve State Special School will provide a modern, inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. Initially welcoming students in the primary years, the school will grow into a Prep to Year 12 campus, supporting students throughout their educational journey. Purpose‑built to meet the needs of its community, the school will feature 11 contemporary buildings, including junior and senior learning centres, an administration building, multi‑purpose hall, resource centre, canteen, specialist music and hospitality facilities.

About The Role

As the Business Manager you will interpret and analyse business plans and work alongside the Principal to deliver a range of corporate services. You will manage the timely delivery of organisational executive and administrative support; frequently identify opportunities to adapt processes; supervise the support staff workforce; and encourage an environment in which quality services are delivered by demonstrating best practice, inspiring change and influencing key stakeholders. As a foundation staff member, you will have the unique opportunity to help establish a positive school culture, build strong community connections, and contribute to creating an exceptional educational environment from the very beginning.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of corporate services, ensuring effective and efficient school operations.
  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Principal across finance, human resources, facilities, and administration.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop school support staff, including workforce planning, recruitment, induction, performance management, and professional development.
  • Manage and monitor the school's budget, financial planning, reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee administrative systems and processes, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Provide facilities and asset management advice, including project coordination, contractor engagement, and maintenance planning.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, community members, contractors, and departmental stakeholders.
  • Lead organisational change initiatives and promote a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture.
  • Ensure corporate services align with departmental policies, legislative requirements, and best‑practice governance.
  • Support the effective use of resources, technology, and business systems to achieve school priorities and improve service delivery.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department. Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.
